I read an explanation somewhere about why one should juice instead of just eat the raw vegi or fruit. I still don't see how that can be natural or biblical. The bible did not provide juicers to Adam and Eve!

Please don't tell me "Why is it healing so many people then?" The Atkins Diet healed a lot of my personal ailments as well, but I certainly do not think that, that diet is healthy!

Would love some answers that stick.

Hi Michelle,
A lot of things have changed since Adam and Eve however I also like to go back to see what information can be found concerning what they ate. Genesis 1.29-30 says they ate plants. In Genesis 9.3 God added meat to Noah's diet. In both cases God used the word "green" in reference to plants. From Noah on the life span of man was slowly reduced, over 12 generations, to 120 years.
Other things that changed are the vapor canopy that covered the earth was removed and the magnetic fields were changed with the flood. Scientists believe that this affected the size and quality of plants. Then we have all that man has done to deplete the soil and the use of chemicals to grow plants. Over processed foods, artificial ingredients, preservatives, colorings, hydrogenated oils etc have made much of our food damaging instead of beneficial. Animal products 3 times a day, every day, every week, every month, every year has left our bodies not only with acidic pH but with the many problems caused by excess fat and cholesterol and no fiber. It is amazing how long these God created bodies can live with abuse. We are fearfully and wonderfully made!
The use of veggie juices is simply the quickest way of getting all the nutrients our bodies were made to live on, to cell level. The key is assimilation. In juice form our bodies can utilize at least 90% of the nutrients. In whole/chewed form the body can only utilize 20-30% - throw in the poor digestive health of so many people and this number goes even lower. Many folks are in a hurry and do not chew their veggies enough to "juice" them. It takes a pound of carrots to produce one glass of carrot juice. It is hard enough to get folks to eat veggies and stop eating the junk. Getting them to chew a couple pounds of carrots several times a day is impossible. Juiced veggies contain everything God put in the plant in their balanced natural state including active enzymes. It is simply the best thing that folks can do to give their bodies what they need to heal and restore. The solution to man's health issues is in what we eat. God didn't give us vitamin plants to eat; he gave us whole foods. If everyone only ate whole organically grown foods we wouldn't have much of a health issue to deal with. But since so many have pushed their bodies to the breaking point something is needed that will make a dramatic difference in the bodies ability to heal and restore. Fresh veggie juices give our bodies this ability. "He satisfies our mouths with good things that that our youth is renewed like the eagles." PS 103

Hi, I am new to the site and wanted to know how you balance the protein, carb ratio if you don't eat meat on this diet. I tried being vegetarian for 4 years and was tired all the time, when I went back to eating chicken/turkey in moderate portions a few times a week, my energy level went up. I don't think too much meat is good for sure, but in modest and sensible portions, the amino acids can be helpful for rebuilding muscle. What is your opinion? Thanks :-)

Robin,

I agree. I followed the Hallelujah Diet very strictly for 5 years and maintained excellent health, however, after further biblical research and desiring to follow the "whole" counsel of God, I added free-range, grass-fed, chicken, bison, eggs and raw goat's milk to my diet. I still maintain excellent health and feel that this is more in line with a true biblical diet.

Hi! I'm a college student interested in starting the Hallelujah diet.

I tried sticking to it a few weeks ago but lasted only 6 days; I don't have a juicer so I was drinking only water and barley green and I had a hard time eating my veggies before they spoiled.

Could you offer some tips on how I could stick to the program with my lifestyle and without a juicer?

Also, although I could fend off hunger during the day on the diet, I had a problem waking up in the middle of the night and giving into the temptation to eat cooked food. Do you have any tips on how to combat this as well?
